Editorial Assistant Australia / Singapore / Philippines / Remote
We are looking for our next Editorial Assistant to join the team.
Bud is a PR & Content agency that helps ambitiously disruptive organisations solve complex communications problems. We do this by crafting stories and strategies that build trust, earn believability, and provoke action.
We're looking for a sharp, curious and creative Editorial Assistant or Manager to join our growing regional team. If you love the craft of writing, have a nose for a compelling story, and want to work with some of the most interesting brands in tech and beyond, we'd love to hear from you.
What you will do
- Support the creation of high-quality editorial content across a range of formats — from long-form articles and whitepapers to op-eds and executive thought leadership pieces
- Help develop and refine content strategies that position our clients as credible, authoritative voices in their industries
- Understand and know communication channels and be up to date as they evolve
- Work closely with senior team members to research, draft and edit content that is sharp, engaging and on-brand
- Assist in maintaining consistent tone, style and messaging across client content programmes
- Build a strong understanding of our clients' industries, audiences and communications goals to inform the stories we tell
- Support in growing your editorial toolkit through hands-on client work and Bud's dedicated learning programmes
What you will get in return
- Salary above industry average
- Mentorship from Buddies who've worked for some of the largest brands and agencies globally
- Flexibility on where you work and opportunity to be hybrid if you are in Singapore or Australia, and with remote options in other markets
- A supportive and collaborative work environment, in an agency that has been nominated three times in APAC-wide Best Place to Work awards, and won the PRCA Workplace Champion (Small Agency) award
- Up to 3 hours a week dedicated to study and upskilling
- A progressive range of benefits including birthdays off, annual office closure, WFH Desk fund, Continuous Learning Programme, monthly early finishes, Snack Fridays, yearly offsite trips, and many more
- Healthcare benefits covering both out- and in-patient
What we need
- At the assistant level, 1–2 years for experience in editorial, content, copywriting, journalism or a related field — agency experience is a plus but not essential
- At the manager level, proven track record in managing an editorial team, creating a system for producing high-quality and/or award-winning content, and landing in top-tier publications
- Exceptional written English with a keen eye for detail, structure and storytelling
- A genuine passion for ideas where you find interesting angles where others see blank pages
- Comfort working across multiple markets, projects, and client voices simultaneously
- Alignment with our agency values:
- Hustle — We work smart to create exponential outcomes, and embrace challenges like a warrior.
- Playful Curiosity — We're fascinated by the world around us, and value humility, actions over words, and the power of listening.
- Always Be Growing — We strive to be better every day.
- Authenticity — We're thoroughly good people to work with, and manifest our diverse Rojak spirit through compassion and speaking plainly.
Other things
- Inspiration comes from every direction. We've got a flat hierarchy where the best ideas win out, no matter where they come from.
- Enjoying what we do is as important to us as our commitment to delivering excellence. We're a people-driven business with an uncompromising focus on building a curious, driven and collaborative team.
- We have a shared commitment to being socially and environmentally responsible, with company policy examples such as offsetting all flights we take for agency travel.
